Introduction  The New Jersey Fireman's Mutual Benevolent Association, comprised of more than 5000 professional firefighters in New Jersey will host their first national fund-raiser in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The event, The Firefighters Land and Sea Holiday (FLASH), is scheduled for Wednesday, November 12th through Sunday, November 16th. This year, we honor and will raise contributions for the families of “The Charleston Nine”, the nine firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty fighting a horrific fire in Charleston, SC in 2007. This event is open to all, although will be limited based on availability at time of booking. Several fellow firefighters will be attending and supporting this worthwhile cause from various cities and states. A message from NJ State FMBA President - Bill Lavin Support a great cause and have a great time doing it! Firefighters, who are not strangers to helping those in need, are answering the call for our brothers in Charleston, South Carolina. A Myrtle Beach Golf and Fishing Holiday is planned for Nov. 12th through the 16th. And what a week it will be in this often referred to as " the Seaside Golf Capital of the World”. We offer three different packages. Each package includes lodging from Wednesday through Sunday. This 4 night / 5 day stay will be at the renown OCEAN CREEK Plantation Resort with arrival on Nov.12th, 2008. We have various types of villa lodging to offer consisting of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units , each with their occupancy requirements as shown in the Lodging section below. Units will be allocated and depleted from inventory based on reservation /payment arrival. So … get your foursome together and register quickly.

The GOLF PACKAGE includes 4 days of golf on award winning championship courses consisting of the popular requested courses of: Arrowhead, Blackmoor, Myrtle Beach National South Creek and West course, Wild Wing Avocet, Prestwick CC, and Willbrook CC. We will assign courses according to availability, time preference (morning or afternoon), and group size. We will keep groups together wherever possible. If you are a real golf enthusiast, you may upgrade to our premium courses based on same basis for a surcharge between $10 - $50. We are pleased to offer the Best of the Best on nationally recognized, award winning courses; CALEDONIA, TRUE BLUE, KINGS North, and BAREFOOT DYE….. SPACE is LIMITED, first come basis. The FISHERMAN ..... Now, if golfing is not in your bag ..., we have a great schedule for fishermen as well. Everyone can catch a fish... right? we'll see how many and how big after three days of deep sea fishing. Two days of off shore charter boat fishing and another day fishing in the Gulf Stream. Imagine the excitement pulling in grouper, snapper, tuna, sharks and more. And I'm told the beer always tastes better in the salty ocean air.

Package Description & Rates  From our opening reception to closing ceremonies, special events will be announced in addition to our main activities for all to enjoy.

Lodging (click on resort name for closer look)

Lodging will be provided at award winning Ocean Creek Plantation Resort, an ENDLESS RUN RESORT property, situated off Hwy 17 North across from Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach. Regardless of package type booked, each includes 4 nights accommodations based on occupancy requirements. Unit type will be allocated from a limited inventory of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom lodges and villas. Part of the inventory will offer oceanfront or ocean view units. All units will be reserved according to occupancy requirements per unit type; one bedroom require 2 people, two bedroom require 3-4, three bedroom require 4-5. Therefore, please know who you will be staying with if you have a particular preference, otherwise, you will be assigned lodging according to availability. If  you do not have a roommate, you will be required to pay a single occupancy upgrade.

All package rates are based on double occupancy, a SC tax and resort fee will be added to your package price. Space will be allocated based on availability at time of reservation/payment with over-spill going to Beach Cove and The Caravelle Resorts.

When completing your reservation form please specify number staying in your unit and provide names of roommates.
 

Additional Options - individual must book and pay resort direct after base package is booked.

All additional charges (additional night’s stay, additional golf, or other incidental charges) will be paid by each individual at check out.

Golf  Golf is available Wednesday through Sunday. Space is limited and will be allocated on reservation arrival basis confirmed by payment. Players are invited to play with their choice of players. Tee times will be allocated according to dates and times, party size, and special course requests. Players in your foursome must be known when making your reservation. Empty space will be filled by Lodging / Golf Desk. If you have others planning to play with you in your foursome, it is important to indicate their names at time of registration. Tee times will not be guaranteed and are subject to release until players in your group have registered.

Although all courses are of championship caliber, FLASH has been fortunate to obtain play on a few premium courses considered amongst the most sought after courses in the region. A slight surcharge will be required to play any of the premium courses. This will increase the golf package price by the amount shown and added to your base package price. Transportation between resort and courses is not provided.

Fishing  Deep-Sea Charter fishing provided by the Calabash Fishing Fleet based 30 minutes drive time from Myrtle Beach.  The fishing package offers three days of deep sea fishing consisting of one day of Gulf Stream fishing and two days of off-shore fishing. All bait and tackle will be provided. Sponsors are being sought to provide beverages and lunch.  Transportation between resort and fishing dock is not provided.

Air Transportation Based on space availability at time of booking, Myrtle Beach Direct Air (MBDA) will offer a reduced rate to all “FLASH” event participants from all cities serviced by MBDA. Schedules and times will vary based on city selection.

Land Transportation  Each individual is responsible to arrange their own transportation while staying in Myrtle Beach. Cancellation Policy  Land cancellation 30 days prior to event will allow full refund less $100 penalty. Cancellation 15 days prior to event allows 50% refund less $100.  There are no refunds for any cancellation made within 15 days of scheduled arrival.  There are no credits, refunds, or substitutions for any unused segments of the package unless closure is determined by FLASH Director.

How to Register -

• Step one
  Determine package type and  who will be rooming and playingwith you. Package rates are based on double occupancy, tee times are based on four players. If you do not provide a room mate name or indicate “need room mate”, single occupancy will be assumed and an up charge rate must be paid by you upon checking in. You will also need to provide players names in your foursome, otherwise space will be assigned by pairings committee. Once space is assigned, changes will not be allowed.

• Step two
  You can register in any one of three options. They are:
  1)  Online - Complete reservation form online and submit payment when  confirmation is sent to you via email shown on registration form.
  2)  Phone reservation  -  register  by  phone  by  calling  the  reservation center at:   877-432-3473.   You must identify that  you are calling to register  for  FLASH.   Payment  will  be  required  with  reservation.
  3)  Mail  -  call  NJ  FMBA  headquarters for form to be faxed or  mailed. You  must complete form and return with full payment. Mail to: MBDA, 1600 Oak St. Suite B, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579.

No registration forms will be processed after Nov.1, 2008

• Step three
  After completing registration, if needed, secure air  transportation and car rental. Myrtle Beach Direct Air will provide special discounts from cities they service. FLASH participants must use Promo Code “ FLASH” when making air reservation and provide FLASH event confirmation upon checking in at airport.   Each individual is responsible to arrange their own transportation while staying in Myrtle Beach.
